The 65th OMEP World Assembly will be held from July 9 to 10, and the Congress will be held from July 11 to 13，2013 in Shanghai, China. It is hosted by OMEP and jointly organized by OMEP China Committee and East China Normal University.The conference theme is ‘Enhancing the Development of Early Childhood Education：Opportunities and Quality’. Leaders of early childhood education from member countries, together with scholars and researchers from all over the world, will attend this conference to discuss important issues of early childhood education development.
OMEP is an international, non-governmental and non-profit organization concerned with all aspects of early childhood education and care (ECEC).OMEP defends and promotes the rights of the child to education and care worldwide and supports activities which improve accessibility to high quality education and care. OMEP is currently established in over 60 countries and is represented at meetings of UNESCO, UNICEF, and other international organizations with similar aims. The annual assembly and congress is an important event for OMEP, creating a huge influence on international early childhood education.
China joined OMEP in 1989. In the years since then, early childhood education in China has developed rapidly and OMEP China Committee is organizing Chinese educators to carry out mass research initiatives to make relevant contributions to the development of Chinese and international early childhood education. As an important window into early childhood education in China, Shanghai welcomes all the delegates from all over the world to participate in this wonderful conference in 2013!
